Bock Combo Oil/ Gas Heaters and Radiant Heat

The Bock Story

Bock Turbo Flue

No one questions that we´re the best ... they only want to know how we do it!

One of the ways is with the Bock TURBOFLUE®, the most advanced heat exchanger in the industry. This patented, multi-finned heat exchanger makes maximum use of waste heat, transferring it to water for greater efficiency and higher energy savings.

TURBOFLUE® has been in every gas and oil water heater we manufacture since it received its second patent back in 1960.

The TURBOFLUE® design provides higher firing rates, lower jacket temperatures, free tank expansion and contraction and easy cleaning and maintenance for a longer-lasting water heater.

The TURBOFLUE® baffles extend two-thirds up the length of the flue from the lower end - the lower the baffles are placed in the flue the better the heater will function.

Bock also uses, an exceptionally high-quality porcelain enamel lining that exceeds industry standards by 53% and two (or more) large magnesium anode rods in each heater.

That´s why we´re Number One in the industry!

Where permitted by code jurisdictions, a domestic water heater may be used as a heat source for hydronic radiant heating in a closed system, provided all generally accepted plumbing practices for closed-loop hydronic heating are used.

Sizing: The water heater net output should be within the range of 100% to 120% of the calculated heat loss unless design factors, piping losses or water heater ratings require that the selection exceed this range.

Additional output capacity should be allowed when other heating demands such as domestic water, priority systems, hot tubs, swimming pools, snow-melting equipment, etc. are serviced from the water heater.

Note: Proper sizing of the water heater can be obtained by consulting with your sales and support technician.

  • Bock water heaters operate at lower temperatures than typical boilers. They use less fuel to heat your potable and radiant water.
  • Bock water heaters´ high BTU output makes them far more efficient for radiant heating than boilers.
  • In open and indirect applications, a single unit heats both water and the home greatly increasing economy. A well-designed hydronic radiant system can reduce energy usage by as much as 40%.
  • Hydronic radiant supply operating temperature can be between 90F to 140F; conventional heat supply heat is between 160F to 200F.
  • Hydronic radiant heat can work with conventional heating systems and is ideal for new construction, hard-to-heat areas, retrofitting and remodeling.
  • Hydronic radiant floor heat uses hot water to warm the home, avoiding the dry "scorched" air produced by conventional heating systems.

If oil is your choice then Bock is your best choice

  • Bock&Radiant uses functional hot water and avoids boiler-type overheating and short cycling that wastes energy.
  • Bock&Radiant eliminates using a boiler during warm months and lets economical domestic hot water work all year.
  • Bock&Radiant maximizes Bock's better heating efficiency as compared to a traditional boiler.
  • Bock&Radiant cuts overhead costs, simple water heater maintenance is much less expensive than boiler maintenance.

A single small Bock will normally heat up to 4,000 square feet of living space and still supply your domestic hot water.

Thermal Efficiency rated at 84%, several sizes and capacities available.

All gas/oil hookups and initial firing should be performed by a licensed technician. The burner used by Bock requires a combustion analysis to be performed at start-up. This test requires special equipment. Before ordering a Bock system, make sure someone in your area can perform this test during installation.

Your sales and support technician is trained to help you with an accurate sizing assessment for your project. Give us a call, we can walk you through our process and answer your questions.
